Overview

What is hydroseeding?

We blend seed, mulch, fertiliser and a natural tackifier with water, then spray it across your prepared soil. The mulch holds moisture around every seed, which matters on Perth sand that dries out within hours.

  • One visit, one even layer
  • Warm-season seed for Perth summers
  • Germination in about 7–10 days

FAQ

Hydroseeding questions

Quick answers to what people ask most.

How long does hydroseeding take to grow?

Green shoots usually appear in 7–10 days in spring or autumn, and most lawns are ready for a first mow in about six weeks.

Can you hydroseed over an existing lawn?

Not over a healthy one. If the old lawn is thin or weedy, we spray it off, prepare the soil and reseed the whole area so it comes up even.

What grass types can you hydroseed?

Warm-season grasses that grow from seed, such as couch and kikuyu, which suit Perth's hot, dry summers. Buffalo and most zoysia are only sold as turf. We match the blend to your sun, shade and use.

Do I need to be home on spray day?

No. Just leave side access open and keep pets inside while we spray.

How soon can I mow?

Usually around six weeks. Keep the mower on a high setting for the first few cuts.

What if it rains after spraying?

Normal rain helps germination, and the mulch and tackifier hold the seed in place. A very heavy storm in the first couple of weeks can wash patches on slopes, which is why we time the spray around the weather where we can.
